On September 21 and 22, 2004, Joe Demantle, Elizabeth Andrew, John and Marie Napoka, and Freda Alexie met in Tuluksak with Oral History staff members Louann Rank and Marla Statscewich. The two days of recordings (tape reference numbers H2004-0706 thru H2004-0709) were separated into the topics below. The second day included Frank Chingliak who translated, and students Richard Phillip and Kristy Peter, who took photos and participated in the discussions.

Individual interviews were conducted by William Schneider on September 23 and 24, 2004 (available by clicking the interviews button on the left) and some topics were taken from those interviews.

Topics were also drawn from interviews conducted with John Peter, Nick Alexie and Lydia Fly during a visit to Tuluksak in April 2005. Another group meeting was conducted at that time with Tuluksak elders John Peter, Herman Hawk, Nick Alexie Sr., Carrie Alexie, Joe Demantle Sr. and Lydia Fly.
