These photos were provided by Dan O'Neill, the National Park Service, the Eagle River Historical Society, Stanton Patty, Bill Schneider and Jean Boone. The photos from Jeane Boone's collection are of protest signs put up by the residents of the area in 1979. The Presidential Proclamation establishing the National Preserve threatened the way of life in the bush communities and people put up signs to show their disapproval.
