Topics in Tuluksak Interviews

tltss2.jpgOn September 21 and 22, 2004, Joe Demantle, Elizabeth Andrew, John and Marie Napoka, and Freda Alexie met in Tuluksak with UAF Oral History Program staff members Louann Rank and Marla Statscewich. The two days of recordings (tape reference numbers 2004-0706 thru 2004-0709) were separated into the topics below. The second day included Frank Chingliak who translated, and students Richard Phillip and Kristy Peter, who took photos and participated in the discussions. Other topics were drawn from: individual interviews conducted by William Schneider in Tuluksak on September 23 and 24, 2004; interviews conducted with John Peter, Nick Alexie, Sr. and Lydia Fly in Tuluksak in April 2005; and the group meeting with Tuluksak elders John Peter, Herman Hawk, Nick Alexie, Sr., Carrie Alexie, Joe Demantle, Sr. and Lydia Fly on April 13, 2005.
