Mary Greene
Originally from Wyoming and having graduated from Harvard Law School, Mary "Meg" Greene came to Alaska in the late 1970s to work as a law clerk for Alaska Supreme Court Justice Jay Rabinowitz. She went on to work as a public defender, became the state's assistant Attorney General in 1980, and was appointed a Fairbanks Superior Court judge in 1985, a position she held until 2002. During her tenure, Judge Greene was responsible for some of the legal decisions regarding the Mental Health Trust Lands case. She then served as General Counsel for the University of Alaska from 2003 until her retirement in mid-2007. For more about Judge Greene, see her obituary in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner newspaper.
