Georgia Strunk

Georgia Strunk

Georgia Strunk was born in Nebraska in 1913. She and her husband, Ed, moved to Alaska after the second world war where he worked as a salesman traveling all over Alaska selling goods. They owned several business in Anchorage, but after the 1964 Earthquake they moved to Glennallen with their nine children. They owned and operated the Cracker Barrel Store in Glennallen. She lived next door to her business in what she claimed was the oldest house in town. She and Ed supplied hunting guides with food that was flown out to camps. After her husband's death, Georgia remained in Glennallen because of the proximity to the church, her business, and the community.
