Kevin Keeler
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Kevin Keeler came to Alaska in 1984 after earning a master’s degree in Resource Management and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He worked for Alaska State Parks from 1984 to 1986, worked with the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for a few years, for the National Park Service for fourteen years as a recreation planner, and has been the Iditarod National Historic Trail Administrator for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Anchorage, Alaska since 2004. He first became acquainted with the Iditarod National Historic Trail when he worked for the National Park Service external technical assistance program called "Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance in Alaska," and did a route study and trails plan for the community of Girdwood focused on the reconstruction of the historic trail and the establishment of other new trails in the area.
