Leo Ash

Leo Ash was born in an ambulance in Homer, Alaska and grew up in Nanwalek, Alaska. In 1996, he conducted oral history interviews with members of the English Bay Band for the Nanwalek and Port Graham Project Jukebox. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rural Development, with a concentration in Business Management, from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2004. He has done a variety of work, including grant writing, sales, construction, and real estate. Leo is an amateur woodworker and plays guitar. He started to play the guitar when he was about six years old, has a member of the English Bay Band, and has played blues, country, soul, pop, Latin, and jazz music around Alaska and the U.S. He currently lives in Anchorage and hosts a live-stream on Facebook about blues music in the Anchorage area, featuring musicians from the local music scene.
