Ken Adkisson

Ken Adkisson graduated from high school in 1960 and after military service he studied anthropology at the University of New Mexico. In 1968, he got his first job with the National Park Service as a seasonal archeologist in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. He went on to hold a variety of seasonal and permanent positions with the Park Service in the Southwest region until January 1985 when he was hired as a ranger at the newly formed Bering Land Bridge National Preserve in Nome, Alaska. He has held a variety of ranger and manager positions with the National Park Service in Nome and currently is manager of the combined natural and cultural resources program at Bering Land Bridge National Preserve.
