Lorry Schuerch

Lorry Schuerch was born in Kiana, Alaska to Pauline and Lorenz Schuerch, Sr. His father owned the village's trading post and he learned to live a traditional subsistence lifestyle from his Iñupiaq mother. Lorry has worked as an Alaska State Trooper, a truck driver, and has operated the Kiana Lodge with his wife, Nellie, and guided fishing charters up the Kobuk River. In 2002, he provided photographs to and participated in some of the interviews for the Kiana Village History Project Jukebox.
