Description:
Nora, her husband Charlie, and their infant daughter moved to Tununak, Alaska in the early 1940’s to serve as Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) teachers. Being a teacher in those days meant also caring for the sick and acting as dentist and midwife - all duties they performed during their four-year stay.
