Description:
Fred Roehl Sr.'s house/store, circa 1912. Marie Roehl Millett as young girl in white dress playing ball. School and teacher's quarters in background. Garden on right behind fence owned by Fred Roehl, Sr. Alex Flynn's cabin & cache at upper right. Fred Roehl Sr., who was the postmaster at Old Iliamna, bought the store from Pete Anderson in 1912. Other items visible in the photo include: pit saws on left; a tin boat, never used, rusted away; and a hay barn for horses located near the river bank to the left of the house/store.
