John Daniel (Jack) Kinney (right) (1868-1933), and his son Thomas Kinney(left) in Chekok, Alaska, circa 1930. Jack Kinney was a freighter in the Klondike before prospecting for gold in the Mulchatna in 1909. He inherited the Chekok site from Mr. & Mrs. Alex Borland, who had a big log place and horse for packing freight.
