Description:
A variety of tools used with fish nets (left to right): fish net mending needles (5); mesh measures (3); and fish hook (1). Fish net mending needles were used to mend or hang nets. Mesh measures were used to make the meshes one size. The fish hook was used to pick fish. These items were handmade after people went to Bristol Bay for commercial fishing. The people saw how these were made and, when they returned home, made their own. These tools were made in the late 1800's by Wassillie Trefon, Bill Trefon Sr.'s father.
