Billy Trefon with Pack Board
Description:
Pack boards were used before the Army-style pack boards came to the Nondalton area. The board is tied in front of your chest with rawhide, which is made from a strip of 1/2 inch wide moose skin. The pack is made up first and then tied on. The date of the shown pack board is unknown, possibly dating back to the 1800's. Pack board provided by Billy Trefon Sr.
