Description:
This view from the top of an antenna tower on April 7, 1956 shows a completed train of building modules; typical of the main DEW line radar stations on the Arctic coast of Alaska. A flying bridge in the center connects with other units housing elaborate radar equipment and living quarters. Similar modular concepts were later used in the development of Prudhoe Bay in the 1960s and '70s.
