River bank at lower end of Wenrich Slough below Wenrich Island where Sam Demientieff and Neil Scannell have observed open water in the spring time. On this trip it was all frozen. Sam explains how he thinks the site opens up because of underground springs. This seems to occur mostly in the spring time when warm temperatures cause holes to increase in size.
