Larry Hinzman gave a presentation on February 15, 2010 to the Stakeholders and Climate Change Meeting at Pike's Waterfront Lodge in Fairbanks, Alaska. The purpose of the meeting was to bring together local experts and scientists to discuss issues related to climate change. Scientists gave presentations addressing some of the issues raised in the communities about impacts to their subsistence livelihoods. In this presentation, titled "Warmer Climate, Thawing Permafrost: What Will Happen to the Yukon Watershed," Larry discusses climate change issues related to the Yukon River, with a particular emphasis on permafrost and its pivotal role in the hydrology of Alaska. A PDF of the slides from his Powerpoint presentation can be viewed here.
