Jean Huddleston grew up at the historic Copper Center Roadhouse in Copper Center, Alaska, which was operated by her parents, George and Catherine Ashby. Her brother, Randall, took over the family business and Jean was pleased that the roadhouse was beginning to flourish again with a growing tourist industry. The Copper Center Roadhouse burned down in 2012 due to faulty wiring, but Jean's son Tom, who owns the roadhouse, plans to rebuild.
