Mary (Amayun) and Charlie Edwardsen, Sr. (Aaluk) and Faye Nusunginya (Kimmialuk) were interviewed on January 20, 1983 by Bill Schneider and Wendy Arundale at the Edwardsen's home in Barrow, Alaska (now known as Utqiaġvik) to review what they said in a previous interview on March 12, 1982 and how it was written up in the Chipp-Ikpikpuk and Meade Rivers Oral History Project final report. Mary and Charlie also were the Iñupiaq language translators for Faye. In this first part of a two part interview, Mary and Charlie review their biographical sections in the report, and all three talk about their respective family's genealogical information, and their travels and experiences in the Chipp-Ikpikpak area.
