Pauline Peter was interviewed on April 1, 1998 by Mike Spindler in Nulato, Alaska for the Raven's Story radio series on KIYU-AM public radio station in Galena, Alaska. In this first part of a two part interview, Pauline talks about living a subsistence lifestyle based on hunting, trapping and fishing. She discusses hunting waterfowl, moose and bears, trapping beaver and wolves, and fishing for salmon, pike and whitefish. She also talks about hardships people faced, and the history of Cottonwood City.
