Open water (hidden) below sandbar bank that can be a hazard for snowmachines. Sam Demientieff describes how the current opens up a channel along the bank. This may be due to ice freezing and dropping along the bank. Such a process is counter intuitive to our thinking of the refreezing along the beach, but here it is open right along the bank.
