Joe Redington

Joe Redington, Jr.

Joe is the son of Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race founder, Joe Redington, Sr. He grew up on the family homestead in Knik, Alaska and got involved with dog mushing at an early age.  Joe has been a commercial fisherman since 1959 and has fished in the Cook Inlet, Norton Sound, Bristol Bay, Tanana and Yukon Rivers, using net and fish wheel.  Joe and his wife Pam also run Iditarod Kennels where they offer guided tours of their sled dog kennel and educate people on the sport of sled dog racing.
