In this interview, Hazel talks about living off the land according to a traditional subsistence lifestyle of hunting, fishing, and trapping. She discusses hunting bears, caribou, moose, and wolves, trapping beaver, fishing for blackfish and sheefish, berry picking, and gardening. She also talks about the effect of wildfires and floods, dealing with the challenges of hard times and cold weather, and the history of the community of Galena.
